House of McGregor

The namesake of New York City ex-pat and NYC Fashion Institute of Technology alumna Cassandra MacGregor, House of MacGregor is a boutique hat-maker and custom millinery operation based in Dallas’s historic Bishop Arts neighborhood. 

Deserving of a space as bohemian and unique as their hats, House of MacGregor made a perfect partner for Stash Design. 

For this project, we put our problem-solving skills to the test.

“I fell in love with a space that had some challenges,” recalls MacGregor.

By the end of the project, what started as a giant hole in an uneven floor was a beautiful centerpiece for the store, reminiscent of a mid-century conversation pit, housing a seating area, service counter, and retail displays. 

This project was truly a testament to why we love getting into our buildouts as early as possible, allowing us to ask our favorite question:

“What can we do with a blank slate?”

By respecting what is there already, we can tailor innovative solutions to embrace what is, and dream about what can be.
