Davis Street Espresso
Davis Street Espresso, the retail sister company to iconic OG-Dallas specialty coffee wholesaler Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters, has been a case study in “true collaboration” for us at Stash.
OCCR and Davis Street Espresso founder Shannon Neffendorf is a dreamer, like us, and as our combined visions for this space intertwined, we learned that the sky’s the limit. The resulting coffee wonderland is the result of a symbiotic relationship between Shannon and Stash which has only grown over time.
“The process was enjoyable,” recalls Neffendorf – and we agree! “I had lots of weird ideas, he had lots of weird ideas, and he was able to blend them into something cohesive and then build it.”
Walking through the café, coffee nerds will delight in Stash’s use of repurposed coffee odds and ends, from porta-filter door handles to pour-over dripper light fixtures, to a disassembled antique espresso machine wall ornament, there was no shortage of opportunity here to push Stash’s penchant for re-imaging to the limit.
Aside from these touches, Stash decked the space out with custom lighting, countertops, a bar built around Davis Street’s specific work-flow requirements, a kid’s area featuring a puzzle wall and custom wooden toys, and patio furniture and décor including an antique bus re-worked into a truly unique seating area.
This project viscerally showcases Stash’s ability to meld form and function.
